Anthony is passionate about the atmosphere and spirit of the East Coast Maritime scene and tries to capture this in his pictures rather than being a slave to detail and photographic accuracy. He spends a lot of time in his yacht 'Selene' soaking up the atmosphere and studying the inimitable light and shade of East Anglia.
Anthony Osler was born in Ipswich in 1938 and for as long as he can remember has taken an interest in all things maritime. He started painting seriously in 1968 after having one or two drawings published in yachting magazines. He has contributed to many mixed exhibitions and has had several one man shows, in Ipswich, Bury St. Edmunds, Maldon, London and Paris.
He is a founder member and Chairman of the increasingly respected East Anglian Group of Marine Artists and has also exhibited at the annual show of the Royal Society of Marine Artists. Examples of his work are available in the form of limited edition prints.
A full time painter, Anthony lives on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. He is married with two grown up daughters.
