After gaining a degree at Leicester College of Art in printed textiles, I spent many years using fabric dye and machine embroidery as my mediums for depicting the landscape, in an attempt to soften the barriers between Art and Craft. I learnt the possibilities and limitations of these mediums, but wanting a change of direction, have now chose to concentrate purely on working in watercolour and water-soluble pencils. I am enjoying the new freedom of this, while still retaining my passion for the detail, texture and energy of my subject. I am fascinated by the play of light on and within water ,and this features increasingly in my work.
East Anglia is my home and walking it's lanes and beaches my main source of inspiration and joy.
