Carl has been sculpting professionally since 1994. For the most part, self taught after attending Ipswich Art School in the late 1980's.
Inspired by the world Carl has produced many sculptures that try and embody the animals movement and character, sketching, photographing and watching the subject matter gives an understanding of the species.
Residing in Suffolk gives Carl the landscape and environment that provides many different habitats that contain a vast range of animal life to study. The estuaries are especially interesting with the migrating birdlife and Otters that frequent the area.
All sculptures are intially produced in clay and are known as 'masters'.
Once the 'master' is at the completed stage it is moulded in high grade silicone rubber and reproduced in limited editions in either pewter, bronze or bronze resin.
Many peices are now in private collections all around the world.
